'Hiroshi Nagai, the illustrator known for his tropical and clear artworks for Eiichi Otaki's 'A LONG VACATION' and 'NIAGARA SONG BOOK,' curated tracks from T. K. RECORDS. As a vinyl junkie and soul surfer, he has been a fan of the label for years. The artwork of the album was created by Nagai himself.
'In 1974, I discovered T. K. Records when I heard 'Rock Your Baby' by George McCrae on FEN (Far East Network). I bought the LP at Melody House on Takeshita Street in Harajuku. Previously, a year prior, I bought Philly Soul records from PIR while visiting the United States. However, I preferred T. K. due to their Florida and Caribbean-inspired image. Moreover, I appreciated the brightness of their sound. I had a 'Favorite Single Disc Chart' with Teruhiko Yumura in the magazine 'SOUL ON' at that time, and I have been collecting 7-inche singles ever since. This time, I made two compilation albums: 'For Lovers Only,' featuring sweet soul tracks, and 'Party Freaks,' a collection of funky tunes that capture the flow of my actual DJ sets and the feeling of making mixtapes. I hope you enjoy the world of the T. K. Miami sound. ' Hiroshi 'Penguin Joe' Nagai'
