Dear friends, happy Monday! here’s a quick rundown of what’s happening at Sweat Records and around South Florida this week:
-The new Sweat tees are in! Here’s a pic if you haven’t seen them yet. The Brian Butler “Logo Sheet” design is printed on super soft shirts that were made in the USA. You can get one at Sweat or online at sweatshopmiami.com for only $15! (P.S. We have tote bags with this graphic too.)
-Today is the last day to vote for this year’s Knight Arts People’s Choice Award. Voting is done by sending a quick text message so pull out your phone and help the local entity of your choice win a $20,000 grant. Full info about the nominees is on the graphic below.
-Our homegirl Rachel Goodrich has a great new video up! Check out “Monsta Mash” for campy creepiness and VHS vibes.
-This year’s Give Miami Day is this Thursday! The goal is to raise money for over 500 local non-profit organizations who are doing great things in the city so if you’re going to give this holiday season, this is the day to do it. They’re having a free community block party to celebrate and you can RSVP here.
-Here’s a cool article from Men’s Journal Exploring Iggy Pop’s Miami which talks about Sweat and how he has been a friend and helped us out over the years like the awesome dude he is.
-Bands: the 2015 POP Montreal festival is now accepting submissions! Click here for all the deets.
-The Art & Culture Center of Hollywood has a great music-related exhibition that opened this weekend. Stop by and check out Dave Muller’s “Rock ‘n’ Old” before it leaves on January 18th.
-Last but not least the 12th Annual ’80s Prom is on Wednesday, November 26th! It’s at Steam (the former Vagabond space) and advance tickets are available now for just $10. Get yours today and get your outfit ready!
