SOUNDS is a free experimental showcase taking place in the Downtown Art House parking lot Saturday, September 20th for Downtown Art Days. Curated by Emile Milgrim, founder of Miami-based record label Other Electricities, and Thom Wheeler Castillo, co-director of Turn-Based Press, it will feature two pieces specifically commissioned for the event: A Fsik Huvnx (O.E.) composition manipulating vocal recordings by opera singer Monica Camafreita, and artist Patricia Hernandez’s project the end | Radio live broadcast amplified throughout the lot. The broadcasts start at 6pm, immediately followed by performances from local electronic talents Dim Past (O.E.), Bobby Flan and Treasure Teeth. Not only do you get a bunch of great, free art in your ears, but we hear there’s free food and beer, so make sure you’re there!
