This Just In: Floor

Robotic Empire has just reissued a very important piece of South Florida music history – Floor’s s/t album! They went all out, updating and expanding the release and also creating an insane deluxe package for die-hard fans. The full description and images are below. This is a must-have reissue for Floor/Torche fans (duh!) and collectors/archivists of made-in-Florida music. Don’t forget to also check this week’s other new releases, reissues and restocks after the Floor info.

Floor – s/t LP+7″ (Standard & Deluxe):
“FLOOR‘s seminal Self-Titled album has been reissued as a standalone 12″ with a bonus 7″ containing outtakes from the album session. Originally assembled as part of the extensive Below & Beyond box set discography a few years back, we are supremely stoked for one of our top favorite albums of all time to be made available once again in a morewidespread manner.

Keeping in mind the original vision for the LP along with appropriate upgrades to reflect the expanded nature of this killer release, FLOOR‘s landmark album (to date) has been reissued in a gatefold jacket with silver color added throughout, and custom glue-pocket to house the bonus 7″. A high quality digital download is now also included, containing the full album and bonus tracks.

To add icing to the cake for like-minded diehard fans, we’ve worked with the band and our bros at Decibel Magazine to craft a limited deluxe ‘Hall of Fame’ edition of the album with further printwork (including full printed lyrics for the first time ever), some rare and never before seen photos, a full transcription of the Decibel feature on the album, plus a cloth patch and weatherproof sticker.

We’ve done our best to make this reissue the definitive version of what we consider to be an incredibly groundbreaking album. For those unfamiliar with FLOOR‘s first proper full-length release, it is a magnificent merging of the best elements from ‘heavy’ to ‘catchy’. With the monumental ‘bomb string’ in tow, an unlikely but amazing combination of incredibly deep-tuned doom rock, sing-along harmonized vocals, a bombastic rhythm and pop sensibilities all set FLOOR apart from contemporaries. Nothing before or after has truly compared to this brilliant monolith of a thunderous-yet-soaring doom sludge pop rock hybrid. Laying the bedrock for what would come years later with TORCHE, the self-titled FLOOR album was and is the stuff of legends.” -Robotic Empire
