The time to brainstorm for your BEST idea for the arts in South Florida is right now. The Knight Arts Challenge is open again through February 27th. They’ll be giving away many, many monies to people and organizations who a) have a great idea involving the arts, b) prove they’ve got the planning skills and know-how to pull it off, and c) can match the funds via their own donors or efforts.
It’s basically the world’s easiest grant application, but it’s also difficult in that you only have a few words to convey your idea so you really have to make them count. If you want some guidance, the Knight Foundation is holding six Community Q&A events all around South Florida, full info on them is here.
I’ll actually be one of the panelists on the first one next Monday at YoungArts. Hope to see you there!
