This Just In: Yes, They Still Make Those

Being a record store, we get a lot of funny phone calls and confused walk-ins. “Yes, we sell vinyl…” “No, it’s not all ‘old stuff’…” “Yes, they still make those.” What’s extra funny is that people are typically more taken aback by the cassettes for sale. Yup, they still make those too, and they’re far more popular that most people think. So popular that now international lovers of the pocket-sized format can rejoice with their own retail holiday – Cassette Store Day. On September 7th, record stores around the world are participating in the first ever tape version of Record Store Day. There are limited releases, parties and mixtape swaps happening all over, because yes, they still make those.

We’re participating in the festivities with CSD releases, cassettes from local bands & labels, live music from The Gun Hoes & The Band In Heaven, food, drinks and a weekend-long sale. Even if you’re not a cassette fan, there’s a ton of sounds & fun worth coming out for.
