Tonight starts off a three-part panel/lecture series at the Miami Art Museum to coincide with their awesome vinyl-centric exhibit The Record.
Miami vinyl junkie and DJ extraordinaire Andrew Yeomanson (aka DJ Le Spam) will be moderating MIAMI VINYL: The History of Record-Making in Miami, Part 1: The 1970s and Earlier. Joining him will be a group of esteemed experts and musical historians including Jeff Lemlich (author of “Savage Lost”, the definitive guide to Florida garage rock) and TK Records founder Henry Stone himself.
Seating starts at 6pm and is first come, first serve, and after the panel is a reception with tunes by Mr. Brown. MAM members are free and non-members are $8. Also, mark your calendars for the next two MIAMI VINYL panels on April 19th and (the one I’m moderating) May 3rd!
