BassHead Blasts Miami Dubstep Worldwide in Midst of London Riots

Morrissey once asked, “could life ever be sane again? We certainly hope so, as the panic in the streets of London rages on. There’s been widespread violence spilling out from the city, one man was killed in Croydon last night, and shops have been looted and set ablaze. The indie community was dealt a huge blow as the Sony DADC warehouse holding PIAS complete stock was burned to the ground. PIAS is the distributor of labels we love like XL/Beggars, Warp, Rough Trade, Domino, 4AD, Sub Pop, Secretly Canadian, Jagjaguwar, Drag City, Thrill Jockey, FatCat, Ninja Tune, Vice, Soul Jazz, and hundreds of others. Our love goes out to everyone affected by the madness, and we hope all the independent labels recover from this.

On a more uplifting note, Miami Dubstep heroes Juan BassHead & MC Jumanji are currently safe in Croydon, London after a big gig at Fabric and a surprise appearance on Sub FM. Tonight they have a set on the legendary GetDarker TV show with Get Low alumni Hatcha and Chefal. We’re sad to hear that Get Darker’s stock of the “This is Dubstep” album was destroyed in the warehouse fire. The show must go on, and will be broadcast live from 7-11pm London time, which is 2-6pm our time, so make sure you tune in here to support your city. You can bet we’ll have it on at Sweat!
