Tyler, The Creator’s “Goblin” Album Release Party at The Vagabond

Lolo knows how much I love LA hip hop collective Odd Future (OFWGKTA), and can’t wait for TYLER, THE CREATOR‘s new album “Goblin” to drop May 10th on XL Recordings. That’s why she hooked (((SHAKE))) up with the official Miami release party this Thursday, May 5th at The Vagabond!

Odd Future is riding a tidal wave of hype right now after crazy live shows at SXSW and Coachella, then signing their own record deal with Sony that lets them keep all their masters and have full creative control of everything released. They’ll be hitting major festivals like Reading and Leeds this summer, and hopefully we can get them down to Miami soon! As odd as it sounds, they’re bringing us the future of hip hop by taking it back to a time before things got messed up. If you can’t handle their lyrical content and “don’t give a f#ck” attitude, at least recognize their talent. In the last couple years they’ve put out more than 10 albums and mixtapes for free on tumblr! Tyler produces all his own tracks, plus those of Domo Genesis and Earl (who rhymes better than 90% of the rappers out there). He also made this video for “Yonkers” his first single from Goblin, and while it’s not my favorite track of his, it’s an easily digestible introduction.

Resident DJ Rob Riggs will be dropping Odd Future tracks before Goblin begins at 10:30. Arrive early to hear it first on the big sound system, and get swagged out from the record company! Brian Butler made the radical poster below for the occasion, and the first 50 people to tell me “FREE EARL” get it one to take home!

Big up Victor and Crossfade for being so down with this event. Stay tuned for the full info on the awesome Cinco De Mayo Fiesta Espectacularrr we’re doing this same night out back!
