Check out Crossfade‘s recap of Tuesday night’s in-store. The show was low-key and featured a trio of acts – Miami’s Dracula and Self & Other, as well as Georgia’s Bird Names – that achieved striking inter-band harmony despite their aesthetic variety. Dracula performed a particularly moving set in complete darkness, save for a lone candelabra. Their arsenal was minimal – 1 guitar, 2 voices, 1 musical saw – and their influences manifold: Celtic and latin folk, deep blues, and the dark whimsy of the soundtracks to Alice In Wonderland and The Nightmare Before Christmas. Below is a video of Dracula performing Yo Morire this past Tuesday at Sweat.
