Above are the inaugural releases from Discosoma Records, the music wing of the Coral Morphologic empire. As their website so eloquently explains, Morphologic “is a marine biologist-owned and operated company that serves to connect discerning, conscientious aquarists with the highest quality Floridian corallimorphs, ricordea, and zoanthids.” Discosoma, named after a popular aquarium coral, serves to connect discerning fans of contemporary indie rock with the highest quality Floridian pop and roll. The singles above, from Miami’s Plains and Lake Worth’s Guy Harvey, come in crafty, hand packaged sleeves (stencils, screen prints, hand stamped labels, etc) and are limited to 100. WPB Invades! Guy Harvey 7″ Release Party with The Jameses @ Fridays

Man, there are a slew of really good bands coming out of the 561 lately… This Friday at The Vagabond we are extremely psyched to help present the release party for the new 7″ by West Palm Beach’s GUY HARVEY.

“Never Seen Snow” is the band’s first vinyl and it’s coming out on Miami’s new Discosoma Records imprint, brought to you by local artists/aquarists extraordinaire Colin Foord and Jared McKay of Morphologic. The singles are limited to 100 copies and come in sleeves hand-decorated by the band, and will be available to purchase the night of the show for just $7. Click here to listen to the b-side “Take Your Time (With Me)”, a little slice of indie pop/rock heaven.

Opening up for them will be another great WPB band – THE JAMESES. We’ve got their excellent “Rat People” 7″ at Sweat right now.

And of course our resident DJs keep the good times going late into the night. No cover before 11pm, drink specials until midnight. C’mon out!
