Boxed Water Now at Sweat

We’ve all heard about how wasteful and ridiculous bottled water is.  Well, one company has come up with a well-designed and innovative alternative… water in a box!

We’re proud to say that Sweat is the first South Florida location to carry Boxed Water.  It’s just $2 for a quart, the packages are far more eco-friendly than bottles, and the manufacturers even kick back profits to charities that conserve water and fight deforestation.

From the company:

About 76% of the Boxed Water container is made from a renewable resource, trees, that when harvested in a responsible, managed, and ethical way serve as an amazing renewable resource that benefits the environment even as it’s renewed. We ship our boxes flat to our filler which is significantly more efficient compared to shipping empty plastic or glass bottles to be filled. The flat, unfilled boxes we can fit on 2 pallets, or roughly 5% of a truckload, would require about 5 truckloads for empty plastic or glass bottles. Our cartons can also be broken down to their original flat state, and are recyclable in some areas. We’re also giving 20% of our profits back to the resources our product is composed of – water and trees.

So next time you’re here at Sweat for an in-store, pick up a box, hydrate yourself and feel good about it!

  1. Guy,

Where to start… Well since you asked, we’re not JUST a record store, we’re also a coffee bar/wi-fi spot and we throw events – tons of events, some music-related and some not. At these events the local folk usually want a beverage to quench their thirst. We now offer another option.

Also, you clearly read our blog but you must have missed yesterday’s “This Just In” post about all the musical goodies that just arrived. Check it out:

To be honest, if we focused solely on selling music, we wouldn’t be here right now. So please try to deal with the fact that we also sell water in boxes and stop by and purchase a record and support!

  2. I think Sweat clearly has a conscious and cares about the local community and the world at large. Their efforts should be applauded not told to focus on selling music.

Support ’em, they make this city a better place to live.

  3. What Maria said! I was just reading about boxed water last week. I honestly have to say (for the sake of self-therapy and to push myself) I feel ashamed of my self for not hitting sweat records more to support. It’s a giving that I love what you sell that relates to music. But I also really love the oatmeal raisin cookies and all the events. It’s no secret (not anymore at least) but if I had the cash, I totally would buy you guys out LOL. a la corporate suit monster… of course, you would all stay running the place <3… Dreams never end!

  4. oh yeah lemme run right out and get one of these TWELVE YEAR OLD records. ive been to record stores all over this state and they seem to do ok selling music. none of them has to branch out in to boxed water distribution.

and theyre open 7 days a week!
