Surely you’ve seen that sticker before. On a lightpole, in a bathroom, possibly even in another country. This is the work of AHOLSNIFFSGLUE, the hardest working man in South Florida street art. You can find him everywhere from the Margulies Warehouse, the back gate of The Vagabond (where he’s part of the (((SHAKE))) party every Thursday with Jose El Rey, Slim Biscayne + myself), to this great piece in Sweat Records:
Ahol’s been doing his thing for awhile now, and his long-overdue solo show debut is happening this Saturday, May 9th, at Stash Gallery. The show is called P(ART)Y and it will be a retrospective of his artwork from the past 10 years. Expect more than the usual street art as he displays his finer side with some really impressive, intricate, ball-point pen drawings. The event is sure to live up to its name with a DJ set by Jose El Rey, grilled cheese for the eatin’, tons of Colt 45 for the drinkin’, plus extended hours – 7pm to midnight – for all you late Gallery-Walkers. There will also be limited edition prints of Ahol’s design put down on t-shirts by Ronnie of Lucha Workshop (who also have some dope shirts at Sweat). There’s plenty of art to be seen during Art Walk this Saturday, but only one place for the P(ART)Y, don’t miss it. As Que Pasa M.I.A. likes to say: do your job.
