    Miami Becomes a Purple City!

    posted by Jsin

That’s what electro pop darling Little Boots sounds like drenched in purple. The producer who remixed this song goes by the name of Joker. His soulful, synthy, Sega style comes from a purple picture he sees in his head before creating the music. At only 20 he’s already made a huge impact in the underground music scene, being named “2008 Producer of the Year” by none other than Pitchfork.

Tomorrow night the Bristol native comes to Miami for the first time to play Shake! Whether you’ve been to them all or you somehow haven’t attended yet, this is the Get Low you’ve been waiting for. It’s already been hyped on the Miami New Times Crossfade blog and the Miami Dubsteppers are ready to go with new shirts for sale!

    Israeli Bass in Miami!

    posted by Jsin

Tomorrow night (((SHAKE))) welcomes the sixth installment of GET LOW! Our special guest this evening hails all the way from Tel Aviv. You know Miami Bass, well here comes some Israeli Bass! The Ice Cream Man BORGORE is one of the most talked about producers in the game right now, with an unmatched style. His Gorestep is known by it’s filthy basslines, obnoxious lyrics, and evil drops that you’ll just have to experience for yourself.

Also joining us is Beat Camp founder T.S. HERITAGE (Boosted Recordings) back in town from Denver. (((SHAKE)))’s own DOORMOUSE (Addict Records) will joining the dark side for a special GET LOW set that I’m really excited to hear. Plus the mysterious MOOKID (Deuce Crew) takes our decks for the first time with Resident DJs JUAN BASSHEAD (Basshead Music) and OTTO VON SCHIRACH (Miami Bass Warriors.) JUMANJI + THE NOME will be your MCs for the evening.

DS, Johnny Strokes + Alex Caso hold down the rest of the party while the bass madness goes on in the big room. RSVP to shake305@gmail.com for reduced entry. Be sure to follow us on Twitter and stay tuned to the blog for more info.

    Shake Birthday With The Beatnuts!

    posted by Jsin

Hard to believe it’s been a whole year since the little hip-hop-party-that-could was born. I know many people didn’t think we’d make it this far. Most parties don’t. A year in club life is an eternity in the real world. There’s a million people to thank for this. From The Vagabond and their staff to all of our amazing guests and organizations we’ve worked with. Extra special thanks to the people of Miami for coming out every week to support. You know who you are… and so do we.

Much love to the whole (((SHAKE))) crew from our awesome Resident DJs to our door lovelies and especially the Sweat Records and Que Pasa M.I.A. families. Lolo brought us together and these guys have become brothers. It is a great honor for me (Man Kitten) to work with Slim Biscayne, Jose el Rey and AHOLSNIFFSGLUE in bringing the 305 the party they needed so badly. Here’s to a long and prosperous reign. Join us for our Birthday tonight with a live performance by The Beatnuts.

    Do your job.
