    N.O.R.E. Live at (((SHAKE)))

    posted by Jsin

Superthug started back in ‘98 with the sound of helicopters, a cell phone ringing, talk of Noreaga in the Philippines… next thing you knew the whole club was jumping off to their first taste of a Neptunes beat and the repeated chant of “what.” N.O.R.E hasn’t stopped running since then and he makes his way to the (((SHAKE))) stage this Thursday, December 10th!

N.O.R.E. comes to The Vagabond live-and-direct to celebrate the launch of Militainment Crazy Hood Radio. He’s joined by a stellar local line-up of MAYDAY, GARCIA, HECKLER, and BLACK BOBBY who we told you about right here. Additional sounds by DJ EFN, SHARPSOUND, DEE JAY K-N-S, D-UP, DOORMOUSE, A-TRAIN + ALEX CASO on the wheels of steel. This is sure to be another epic (((SHAKE)))

Then later at Fridays at The Vagabond, we’re extremely excited to present a live performance by NYC electro duo TELEPATHE!!!!  These girl’s snythy electro jams have had our heads nodding around Sweat HQ for a while so we are super psyched to present them live. The world’s second largest art fair is back in town. Naturally (((SHAKE))) won’t let it go without adding our spin (remember Paint Ballsel?) so this year we’re celebrating ART BASS-EL! We’re bringing big bass sounds of New Orleans Bounce music to Miami for the first time ever. Here’s what happened when it came to Brooklyn…

That was BIG FREEDIA, who you can catch performing live this Thursday at The Vagabond with her DJ RUSTY LAZER. We’ve also brought back the Brooklyn bass banger DIRTY FINGER to celebrate his Birthday with us and get your asses moving once more! Residents DOORMOUSE, A-TRAIN, DS + ALEX CASO supply the rest of the (((SHAKE))) soundsystem for the night.

Adding to the excitement is the world’s biggest dreidel tournament going down right in our back yard! Sign up here for MAJOR LEAGUE DREIDEL and spin your way to the championship!

We’re also hosting the official release of the MIAMI’S FINEST 2010 CALENDAR, so come out and be the first to pick yours up! Do your job.

    Miami Becomes a Purple City!

    posted by Jsin

That’s what electro pop darling Little Boots sounds like drenched in purple. The producer who remixed this song goes by the name of Joker. His soulful, synthy, Sega style comes from a purple picture he sees in his head before creating the music. At only 20 he’s already made a huge impact in the underground music scene, being named “2008 Producer of the Year” by none other than Pitchfork.

Tomorrow night the Bristol native comes to Miami for the first time to play Shake! Whether you’ve been to them all or you somehow haven’t attended yet, this is the Get Low you’ve been waiting for. It’s already been hyped on the Miami New Times Crossfade blog and the Miami Dubsteppers are ready to go with new shirts for sale!
