17Sweat Dubstep Update
posted by JsinDubstep seems to be in everyone’s heads these days, and it’s no different here at Sweat Records. Here’s an update of some great stuff we carry.
There’s the new Miami Dubstep shirts designed by Adam “Munkz” Pascale. They’re only $15 and they look like this:

Be sure to check out the Soul Jazz Records “Singles 2008-2009″ CD featuring cuts by Ramadanman, Kode9, Digital Mystikz and more. We also have some stellar 12″ vinyl releases from Basshead including 12th Planet ft. Emu “Control (Skreamix)” + Otto von Schirach’s “Bass Low.”

Gracing the purpled-out front cover of this month’s XLR8R is the newly crowned Bass King, Joker, who came to Get Low last month and blew our minds.

It’s a perfect night to visit Sweat before heading to The Vagabond for Miami’s best monthly dubstep party, Get Low.

18Miami Becomes a Purple City!
posted by JsinThat’s what electro pop darling Little Boots sounds like drenched in purple. The producer who remixed this song goes by the name of Joker. His soulful, synthy, Sega style comes from a purple picture he sees in his head before creating the music. At only 20 he’s already made a huge impact in the underground music scene, being named “2008 Producer of the Year” by none other than Pitchfork.
Tomorrow night the Bristol native comes to Miami for the first time to play Shake! Whether you’ve been to them all or you somehow haven’t attended yet, this is the Get Low you’ve been waiting for. It’s already been hyped on the Miami New Times Crossfade blog and the Miami Dubsteppers are ready to go with new shirts for sale!

26DUB WAR in Miami
posted by Jsin
Thursday, August 27th a great battle of bass will be waged during (((SHAKE))) when Joe Nice declares Dub War on Get Low. Baltimore’s Joe Nice is known as the US Ambassador of dubstep to the rest of the world, playing legendary parties like DMZ in the UK. He is the founder of New York’s biggest dubstep party, Dub War, which has been going since 2005. You can also catch him on the radio every Tuesday night at Gourmet Beats, but you really have to see his high energy live show to feel his big-time stage presence!
Here’s what we mean by that…
Miami Dubstep will be represented by Juan Basshead, Otto von Schirach, Joel the Hutt and the Bassmakers Trip1 and Secondhand Smoke. Our Masters of Ceremonies Jumanji and The Nome will be holding it down like champions. Heavy bass bombs will be hitting the dancefloor all night, so be safe and Get Low.
