    Astari Nites + Green Skies

    posted by Lolo

This weekend two celestial groups will cross our paths… Tonight at The Vagabond, Miami’s ASTARI NITE will take the stage in the Main Room.  They’re celebrating the release of their new EP “True Romance” – the New Times wrote a great preview piece for the show, read it here and come out!

Then Saturday night at Sweat, bust out the earplugs (or pick up a nice pair at the shop) for a four-band in-store! GREEN SKY headline the night with opening sets by Shroud Eater, Furious Dudes and Lil Daggers. No cover, starts at 8pm.  See you this weekend!

    IronForge x Surfer Blood POSTER

    posted by Lolo

By now you’ve all heard about the fact that we’ve got West Palm Beach’s SURFER BLOOD at Fridays at The Vagabond tomorrow, that they’ve been featured in the New York Times, by Rolling Stone, a recent lead story for the Broward New Times, and that scrooge-y old Pitchfork made their single “Swim” number 37 on their list of the top tracks of the year.

What you haven’t heard, is that Sweat and The Vagabond have teamed up with IronForge Press to make a sick silk-screened limited edition poster for the show!

    Miami Becomes a Purple City!

    posted by Jsin

That’s what electro pop darling Little Boots sounds like drenched in purple. The producer who remixed this song goes by the name of Joker. His soulful, synthy, Sega style comes from a purple picture he sees in his head before creating the music. At only 20 he’s already made a huge impact in the underground music scene, being named “2008 Producer of the Year” by none other than Pitchfork.

Tomorrow night the Bristol native comes to Miami for the first time to play Shake! Whether you’ve been to them all or you somehow haven’t attended yet, this is the Get Low you’ve been waiting for. It’s already been hyped on the Miami New Times Crossfade blog and the Miami Dubsteppers are ready to go with new shirts for sale!
