Baroness @ the Culture Room

Culture Room

Baroness are ready to color our world once more. Having recently revealed plans for their fifth studio album, Gold & Grey, the band is now trotting out some new music and revealing more of their plans to support the album.

The band recorded the album with producer Dave Fridmann. Gold & Grey is due June 14 and Baizley says of the disc, “The term I kept using was that I wanted to create something that was more kaleidoscopic than our former records. We were trying to say something new with our instruments, with our sound intact, with the spirit of the band intact, but not applying the typical conventions when possible.” You can pre-order the album here.

Meanwhile, Baroness have added onto their current tour schedule, booking a summer U.S. tour leg for the “Gold & Grey” tour.

Umphrey’s McGee

Fillmore Miami Beach

“Summer Tour 2019”
COMES TO THE INTIMATE
FILLMORE MIAMI BEACH
AT THE JACKIE GLEASON THEATER
FRIDAY, AUGUST 16TH, 2019
TICKETS ON SALE FRIDAY, MARCH 22ND / 11AM
Jamband sensations Umphrey’s McGee brings its unique sound once again to the Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theater for its Summer Tour 2019 on Friday, August 16th, 2019 / 7PM. Tickets go on sale Friday, March 22nd / 11AM.
Umphrey’s McGee’s constantly evolving sound channels a wide spectrum of influences while still preserving their distinct voice through crafty songwriting. With a massive repertoire of originals and note-perfect covers, their live shows are like flipping through the presets on your radio dial. Their A.D.D. approach to “progressive improvisation” utilizes a set of Zappa inspired hand signals allowing them to orchestrate their melodic creations on the fly.  The music of Umphrey’s McGee unfolds like an unpredictable conversation between longtime friends. Its six participants—Brendan Bayliss [guitar, vocals], Jake Cinninger[guitar, vocals], Joel Cummins [keyboards, piano, vocals], Andy Farag [percussion], Kris Myers [drums, vocals], and Ryan Stasik [bass]—know just how to communicate with each other on stage and in the studio. A call of progressive guitar wizardry might elicit a response of soft acoustic balladry, or a funk groove could be answered by explosive percussion. At any moment, heavy guitars can give way to heavier blues as the boys uncover the elusive nexus between jaw-dropping instrumental virtuosity and airtight songcraft.
General Admission tickets for Umphrey’s McGee “Summer Tour 2019” Friday, August 16th, 2019 / 7PM are $30.00 in advance and $35.00 day of show.  All tickets are on sale Friday, March 22nd / 11AM at LiveNation.com or charge by phone 800-745-3000 and at the Fillmore Box Office during normal business hours (Mon. – Fri., 11AM – 6PM and during show days).

Pedro the Lion and mewithoutyou at Revolution Live

Revolution Live

Capping off a fruitful 12-year long solo career, David Bazan resurrects both the moniker and mindset of his profoundly influential indie rock outfit, Pedro The Lion. The band’s new album and Polyvinyl debut, Phoenix, marks a return to form as the follow up to their 2004 opus, Achilles Heel. Phoenix maps out the emotional intricacies of growing up in Arizona with the songs themselves a darkly hopeful introspection into home and what it means to go back, if you ever can.

Since their formation in 2001, mewithoutYou have become a standard-bearer for their genre. Across six full-length albums and a handful of EPs, the Philadelphia band— alternately labeled experimental punk, post-hardcore, indie rock, etc.—have long put a premium on progression, never anchoring themselves to a single sound and instead gracefully wandering across stylistic lines.

JENNY LEWIS

Revolution Live

Jenny Lewis had her first taste of stardom when she was a child, appearing in a series of television shows and films. As she came of age, she grew disenchanted with acting and turned to music, forming the popular indie rock band Rilo Kiley with Blake Sennett. Her work with Rilo Kiley drew upon the seediness of her native San Fernando Valley and nearby Hollywood and garnered great critical acclaim. However, she began to expand her horizons when she released a country-tinged solo debut calledRabbit Fur Coat. This established Lewis as a formidable singer/songwriter in her own right, and her reputation only grew after Rilo Kiley split-up, thanks to her rustic Americana album Acid Tongue and the slick pop sheen of The Voyager.  Acid Tongue debuted at 24 on Billboard’s Top 200 upon its release andThe Voyager debuted at number nine. Lewis has recently unveiled plans for her fourth solo album, titledOn the Line and set to arrive sometime in spring 2019. The follow-up to The Voyager promises 11 original songs and a personnel lineup on the album including Beck (with whom Lewis recently performed at Red Rocks Ampitheatre) and Ringo Starr, as well as Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers bandmemberBenmont Tench, producer/bassist Don Was, and noted session drummer Jim Keltner.

Embracing her vocal range like never before and celebrating herself to the fullest, she speaks her mind, censors nothing, and delivers an enviable level of honesty, pure passion, and fresh fire.  Her latest album CUZ I LOVE YOU arrived to critical acclaim with Variety declaring, “Her debut’s sexy, smart, scuffed-up R&B establishes Lizzo as an immediate star.” Esquire affirmed, “The album reveals another bullet point on her already spectacular resume: Lizzo can sing. Boy, can she sing.”  And then there was Coachella earning her further acclaim. Lizzo has quickly cemented herself as one of 2019’s preeminent pop figures,” wrote Consequence of Sound.“(Her) set only spanned 12 songs, but every track got the crowd grooving more than the last. The show attracted the most tightly packed audience in the Mojave tent across the whole weekend.”  This is a show not to be missed!

Taking Back Sunday

Revolution Live

Taking Back Sunday will be performing at Revolution Live FTL on TWO consecutive nights – Friday, Oct 11 and Saturday, Oct 12! Tickets are sold individually for each night.

In celebration of their 20th anniversary, Taking Back Sunday will be embarking on an extensive worldwide tour, paying tribute to their catalog – and their fans – with full album performances.

Taking Back Sunday will be performing their debut album Tell All Your Friends in its entirety. Each nightly set will offer a double-album play – using a specially designed coin, Taking Back Sunday will flip to play either Where You Want To Be or Louder Now in addition to Tell All Your Friends.

If you can’t believe that Taking Back Sunday have been around for 20 years, you’re not alone, because they can’t either. Although the pride of Long Island have had a handful of member changes over the years, the current lineup of the band – vocalist Adam Lazzara, guitarist John Nolan, drummer Mark O’Connell and bassist Shaun Cooper – have all been there since the beginning. From the band’s landmark 2002 debut Tell All Your Friends to their most recent full-length, 2016’s Tidal Wave, Taking Back Sunday have evolved from a key player in the early 2000s emo scene to a genre-defying rock band who have three gold albums without ever ceasing to push the limitations of their sound.
