True story: I had a hazy recollection of an old TV movie I saw about a nice, classical music-playing kid who was dying to “go punk”, but couldn’t do so under the watchful eye of his psychologist mother.  I couldn’t find info about it anywhere but finally my awesome media historian friend Dan not only found the film I was looking for, but found a copy of it!

So without further ado, we’re going to be showing long-lost Afterschool Special The Day My Kid Went PUNK this Thursday night at Sweat!  We’ll also be showing clips from rare post punk/new wave concert film Urgh! A Music War AND we’ve got a tasting going on by Sweetcakes Cupcakes!

They’ll be bringing their incredible, fluffy vegan cupcakes along with other treats, $5 gets you three deluxe samples.  There’s no cover for the films though, we’ll have some adult beverages to go around too.  Seating starts at 7:30pm and is first come, first serve.  See you Thursday!
