Knight Arts Challenge Miami Returns February 4th

    by Lolo

Not sure if you caught the news but in December the Knight Arts Challenge was renewed in South Florida for three more years!

As you probably know, little old Sweat Records has now been granted twice.  We used funds from the first one to launch SweatShopMiami.com, build our Event-O-Matic WordPress plug-in (that’s now been downloaded over 9,300 times worldwide), present three free Sweatstock festivals, and put out some new local vinyl.  The second grant was just announced and we have some great projects ahead!

That said, if you have a great idea for the arts in South Florida YOU should apply!  They’re going to start taking applications for the 2013 KAC next week!  That’s plenty of time to brainstorm…

From Knight: There are just three simple rules: 1. The idea is about the arts; 2. The project takes place in or benefits South Florida and 3. You must find funding to match the Knight Foundation grant

The first round application is just a short paragraph outlining your idea.

This might be world’s easiest grant application.

Here’s a great blog post with all the info and tons of resources about the contest and the application process.  They are accepting applications from February 4th through March 4th.  We wish you all the best of luck!

This is wonderful! You all never cease to amaze me with your resourcefulness to make wonderful things happen! I am proud to have been there years ago to watch it form into what it is today. Congrats!
