This year’s Knight Arts Challenge is open! The Knight Foundation is giving away literally millions of dollars to help the arts continue to blossom in South Florida. As y’all know, Sweat scored one in 2009 and it helped us…
- create our Event-O-Matic software, which lets people add events to the community calendar on our Events Page (which has gotten over 3,000 local submissions AND the E-O-M is now a free WordPress plugin that’s been downloaded globally over 4,600 times!)
- launch SweatShopMiami.com which is the only e-commerce site dedicated to locally-made music and goods (and is also the official online stores for Otto Von Schirach and Panther Coffee). We’ve shipped to over 15 countries!
- and it helped us put on our Sweatstock Festivals (this year’s is coming April 21st!)
See all the info for this year below, and there’s also a Town Hall meeting next week to help you hone your applications. Good luck!
The Knight Arts Challenge, a community-wide contest funding the best ideas for the South Florida arts, is accepting applications.
Anyone can enter – nonprofits, businesses and even individual artists. There are only three rules: the idea must be about the arts; the project must take place in or benefit South Florida and the winners must find funds to match Knight’s commitment.
Ask questions at a Town Hall meeting at 6 p.m. March 14 at the Little Haiti Cultural Center, 212 NE 59th Terr.
Apply by March 19 at KnightArts.org.
