(((SHAKE))) Gives the Gift of BeatCamp and ¡MAYDAY!

    posted by Jsin

It’s been way too long since (((SHAKE))) homies ¡MAYDAY! last took The Vagabond by storm. That show was mayhem, and they’ve since signed to Tech N9ne’s Strange Music and joined him as openers on the All 6′s And 7′s Tour, killing 82 shows in 85 days! They’re back in the 305 recording their new album, and we proudly welcome them to the main room Thursday, December 22nd for a very special performance at midnight. Merry (((SHAKE)))mas to us!

ASHWORTH will be dropping hip hop flavored bass before and after the band. Up front in the bar we have our awesome resident DJs A-TRAIN & ROB RIGGS. The patio features a lineup put together by Juan BassHead starring BeatCamp originators T.S. HERITAGE + GRRL13 with ROY B + DOPPELBANGERS. DISM will be painting a mural on The Vagabond’s back gate while the cutting-edge electronic sounds are played.

No cover 10-11:30pm with rsvp to SHAKE305@gmail.com! $1 Colt 45 from 10-11pm + $5 Cuba Libres all night. Do your job.

    This Just In: Luminescent LPs

    posted by Emile

That’s right, we’ve got some GLOWING records for you. We’ve got tons of the non-glowing variety too. Remember – there’s still plenty of time to pick up presents for the holidays. We also have gift certificates available in any denomination and can place special orders with no extra charge.

Beings – Social Creep EP 7″
“The final four recordings from the beloved and now-defunct Miami band Beings. The Social Creep EP is a 4-song, limited-edition run of 100 copies in glow-in-the-dark vinyl with sleeve art by the band, screen-printed in glow-in-the-dark ink by Iron Forge Press. We have rubber stamped our corallimorph logo onto both sides of the center-sticker by hand and numbered the a-side, both in silver ink. This is a special record.” -Discosoma Records

    Phoenecia – Demissions CD:
Fans have been waiting for this one a looooong time… “Schematic label owners return after 10 years on the sidelines, with an ageless electronic album which traverses the gaps between techno, electronica, ambient, industrial & noise with fluidity, that plays like a contiguous, mood-driven soundtrack.”

PJ Harvey – To Bring You My Love LP
Pressed on vinyl for the first time in over 10 years!!! This is a freakin’ classic – PJ Harvey’s first “solo” effort and the first of her works co-produced by Flood. Considered her breakthrough album, it ventured into experimental song-structures/textures and nodded at future progressions outside a standard rock structure. It was named one of the top 500 albums of all time by Rolling Stone. Grab it before it goes out of print for another 10 years.

New Releases, Reissues & Restocks (including some things we haven’t had in months):
Amy Winehouse – Lioness: Hidden Treasures CD/LP
    Arthur Russell – Let’s Go Swimming 12″
Charlotte Gainsbourg – Stage Whispers CD
Gregory Isaacs – Night Nurse LP
John Coltrane – Coltrane Plays The Blues LP
Jonsi – We Bought A Zoo OST CD
Lee Perry – Roast Fish, Collie Weed & Corn Bread LP
Minor Threat – Minor Threat LP
    Modeselektor – Monkeytown CD/LP
Mr. Bungle – Mr. Bungle LP
Oneohtrix Point Never – Replica LP
    Primal Scream – Screamadelica LP
    Roots – Undun CD
Sun Ra – Medicine For A Nightmare: The Singles LP
Tandoori Knights – I Hear Someone Cry 7″
Various – Cut It Up Def: Miami Bass Jams CD
    Various – Bossa Jazz Vol.1 2LP
    Various – Studio One 63-80 2LP
