“Earthlings” Screening Tonight

On a related note, tonight at the shop we’re showing the award-winning, controversial “life-changing” documentary EARTHLINGS as part of our Movie Mondays series.  It’s full of real, sometimes undercover footage of what goes on in the industries that rely on animals, that the industries themselves are desperate for you NOT to see.

Honestly, I could barely get through the trailer but will do my best on Monday because it’s important to be aware of what’s really happening around the world every day, at least to honor the animals who are actually going through it..

I hope you’ll join us, seating starts at 8pm, movie at 8.30 and admission is free.  And yes, we will be stocked up on vegan cupcakes.

“Narrated by Academy Award nominee Joaquin Phoenix (WALK THE LINE, GLADIATOR), EARTHLINGS is a feature-length documentary about humankind’s absolute economic dependence on animals raised as pets, food, clothing, entertainment and for scientific research. Using hidden cameras and never-before-seen footage, EARTHLINGS chronicles the day-to-day practices at some of the largest industries in the world, all of which rely entirely on animals for profit. Powerful, informative and thought-provoking, EARTHLINGS is by far the most comprehensive documentary ever produced on the correlation between nature, animals and human economic interests.”
